At the Gothenburg ship yard where our Ejdern was built there were then six more ships built with the same name plus a couple more from other ship yards, most of them sadly gone today. Today ten Ejderns are registered. And the Marine has one ship type called Ejdern too. And maybe there are more small boats called Ejdern that we don't know of.
Ejdern - a common sea bird, specially on the west coast (where our Ejdern originates from) and one of the biggest and a good diver. The females and males, that are black and white, gather at sea mating and then the females are left to hatch and raise the young. But they stick together, babysitting for each other.
