1818 the first Swedish steamer put in regular traffic, on lake Mälaren, was the `Amphitrite´.
1838 Sweden owned all together 43 steamers of which 23 were stationed in Stockholm.
1840 the first all iron steamer was launched, the `Samul Owen´.

1872 the Gothenburg steamer `August Leffler´ passed the Suez canal as the first Swedish vesset, on her way to China.
1903 the first Swedish circumnavigation with a steamer was done by `Mari´ of Helsingborg.
